This is Ruby, our West Highland White Terrier. Usually she’s a lot more rambunctious than she is in this picture — she’s either climbing up my legs so she can lick my face or she’s chewing on everything in sight.
After three years and 400 pages, I have finally finished writing the first draft of a novel. Now I'm collecting all kinds of advice about writing and editing. Do you have some? I also like books, science fiction, and many other things.

Ruby does her adorable head twist when she hears strange sounds (in this case, my wife trying to find something Ruby’s never heard before). ALERT: the sound on this is loud.
